A team of recruiters from Portsmouth will take on a 50km hike in August to raise £10,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer.
Members of Astute Technical Recruitment, which is based in Lakeside North Harbour, will tackle the fundraising event in Minehead on 5 August.
Terry Buckel, Founder and CEO of Astute, said, "We are proud to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that helps children, young people and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them."
At the beginning of each year, the Astute team picks a charity of the year, enabling the business to focus its fundraising and awareness-raising activities.
Terry added, "The cause is close to the hearts of many at Astute, with personal ties to Young Lives vs Cancer's incredible work.
"We're not just walking the 50 kilometres for Young Lives vs Cancer, we're walking for our colleagues, families, and everyone whose life has been touched by cancer."
As part of the drive to raise £10,000, the team will also participate in the Great South Run and climb Mont Buet in France.
Terry said, "People is one of our core values. Placing people at the forefront of Astute means we strive to make a positive difference to everyone who interacts with us.
"But we also believe in powering change and giving back to our community.
"This challenge is a testament to our commitment to making a difference, one step at a time.
"Small steps make big changes, and we’ll be taking countless steps this year."
Liz Blunt, Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager at Young Lives vs Cancer, said, "We can only provide specialist tailored care that's practical, emotional and financial for children and young people with cancer (babies to 25 year olds) and their families thanks to wonderful companies like Astute and their fantastic employees. A massive thank you to everyone involved in these challenges."
