Location - East Sussex

Salary- Competitive

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Site Supervisor to be based at our clients site in East Sussex. Reporting to the MRF Manager (Area WTS Manager) the Site Supervisor will supervise the daily operations at their Integrated Waste Facility.

The hours are 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday.

The purpose of the role:

As Site Supervisor, you will lead the team of operatives and maintain the safe and efficient operations of the Integrated Waste Facility (Materials Recycling Facility, MRF and Waste Transfer Station, WTS)

Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures;
  • Compliance with all policies and procedures;
  • Compliance with all Permits and Permissions relevant to this site;
  • Being a valuable and valued member of the South Downs team, working to deliver the requirements of our contract with the Client;
  • Supervising the team of Recycling Operatives (via the Asst. MRF Supervisor), Plant Operatives and WTS Operatives, including rota and work allocation;
  • Collate and report any accidents, incidents, near misses, hazard or safety concerns or other observations, and any plant / machinery defects, to the appropriate person(s);
  • Applying policies and procedures, including those covering Health & Safety, within the MRF and WTS operational teams;
  • Ensuring materials are processed to the required quantity and quality, and adapting to the changing requirements of the business;
  • Operating fixed and mobile plant as required, subject to receiving the relevant training;
  • Supporting the MRF Manager by suggesting improvements and innovations, and working to improve the efficiency and quality of the plant and its outputs;
  • To be available for overtime including evenings and weekends as required;
