We are currently recruiting for a Site Chemist to join one of the leaders in hazardous and clinical waste management solutions at their site in Southampton. Working as a Site Chemist, you will be responsible for taking and analysing hazardous waste samples on-site to ensure safe and compliant waste is processed at all times.
As Site Chemist you will be responsible for taking and analyzing hazardous waste samples including liquids (including acids, alkalis, oils, petrol, effluent, and diesel), industrial services, coatings, paints, thinners.
You will ensure the full management of all relevant paperwork and COSHH assessments whilst ensuring compliance within Safety, Environmental and Company policy.
You will be responsible for the treatment of materials and chemicals and preparation of processed waste streams for National Distribution
The role will involve managing your own workload to efficiently receive, process and dispatch incoming wastes through a hazardous waste treatment and transfer facility.
To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reactions.
Candidates would ideally have some experience working in a site based chemist role and an understanding of the hazardous waste indsutry would be advantageous.
