JOB TITLE Shift Mechanical Engineer / Technician (Days) - Recycling Plant - North London

LOCATION Enfield, North London

SALARY Up to £34k

We are currently working with a leading Waste Management & Environment specialist who have asked us to help them source a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Technician to join their state of art Material Recycling Facility in North London.
Our client is one of the UK's leading Waste Management and Environmental Specialists and as such own the largest Material Recycling Facilities in the UK, processing up to 250,000 tonnes of waste per year.

The role itself

They are seeking a proven Maintenance Engineer / Technician, with prior waste / recycling / heavy industrial / process experience who can help reinforce their Maintenance team on site.

Key responsibilities will include

Reporting into the Engineering Supervisor you will be responsible for carrying out a full range of maintenance activities on the plant, both preventative and reactive.

You will be well versed in H&S, with a good understanding of relevant policies and procedure adopted on site to ensure a safe working environment for everyone concerned.

You will help supervise contractor to ensure work is carried out to the required standards.

Help carry out problem solving activities on the machinery to help identify faults and fix them.

Take part in Route Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to help identify the reason behind plant failures and to address these to help reduce future downtime.

Utilising the company's CMMS system to promote a structured and timely approach to maintenance, staying ahead of game in order to help maintain downtime on the plant.

What you will need to be able to demonstrate to be considered for the role

You will be need to demonstrate the relevant experience and qualifications to be considered for the role. Successful applicants with be Level 3 qualified Mechanical / Plant Engineering and will demonstrate proven experience working in a Process / production / Recycling / FMCG environment.

As a Mechanical Engineer / Technician you will have a good hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge working in a factory environment. A good understanding of PLC faulting finding and general plant electrics would also prove most desirable. Maintaining the Plant itself you will be working with conveyor systems, gearboxes, bearings, motors, drives, transmission systems, etc. This is not a FM role so it is critical that the successful applicant has a proven track record working within a processing, recycling, manufacturing type plant environment maintaining the general running of plant itself.
