Senior Electrical / Electronic Design Engineer
£50,000 to £70,000 - Dependent on experience
We are currently looking to recruit experienced senior and lead Electrical and Electronic Design Engineers to join a world leader in remote handling for hostile environments. This includes Nuclear Fusion, Nuclear Decommissioning and High Energy Physics experiments, both domestically and on a global scale.
This role will suit engineers that are keen to work on cutting edge projects at the forefront of the sector, and be involved with delivering challenging but rewarding solutions to real world problems.
Working from their headquarters near Oxford, you will be reporting into the Engineering Manager and will be working on the delivery of consultancy services, equipment design and implementation projects.
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for developing junior engineers and taking a prime role in leading and directing the company's electronic engineering activities. You will develop and implement work programmes and project plans for small to medium sized projects with the support of a full engineering team.
Managing the full lifecycle of projects will include creating specifications, designing, procurement activities, integration, commissioning and developing complex electro-mechanical devices.
The most desirable applicants will hold a recognised engineering degree level qualification (or equivalent), and a suggested 10 years or more of relevant and demonstrable experience in a number of the following disciplines:
- Design, assembly and testing of remote handling / robotic / mechatronic / electromechanical equipment
- Complex mechanism design, with consideration for multi-discipline design requirements
- Designing for assembly
- 17th Edition certification
- Electrical / electronic CAD software packages
- Knowledge of control systems design and fault diagnosis
- Technical involvement in bids and tenders
- Effective communication and collaboration within wider project teams
- Excellent written and spoken English
