Security Design Engineer - New Build Nuclear

Bristol (With Site Visits)

Up to £60,000 + Bonus & Pension.

Introduction

Astute Technical Recruitment are currently working on the exciting nuclear new build project in the South West (Hinkley Point C) This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting project with future development opportunities.

The Job

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the detailed design of security and access control systems for Hinkley Point C. Duties will include.

  • Working closely with the Nuclear New Build Security Branch Operations Manager, Project Manager, Commercial Manager and Key Stakeholders.
  • Producing detailed specifications for inclusion in invitation to tender projects.
  • Supervising, coordinating and managing the detailed security design to ensure delivery on time and in budget.
  • Defining the technical requirement and scope for all technical and physical security systems.
  • Identifying and managing risks.

The Security Design Engineer will apply a project management approach to all design principles and systems.

Stakeholder Management is crucial, as the Security Design Engineer will be required to establish and support team members to deliver specific deigns.

Skills & Qualifications.

To be considered for this exciting position, you will need to have…

  • An Electrical Engineering degree.
  • Experience in the management of design.
  • Experience in Contract Management (ideally NEC)
  • A wealth of experience gained in a heavily regulated environment (Nuclear, Power, Rail, Aerospace)
  • A basic understaning of PWR design and the nuclear fuel cycle.
  • A Project Management qualification (AMP, Prince 2)
