Our Client is a leading global provider of consulting, engineering, construction and management services in water, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. They have planned, designed, built and managed many of the world's largest and most technologically advanced projects and programmes.

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our Client on a contract basis. This role will be reporting directly to the Contracts Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, from tender stage to final completion
  • Reviewing at project level the effectiveness of the BMS as a means of achieving quality, safety and environmental objectives
  • Ensuring that a Technical, Safety and Environmental review is carried out for each project to ensure successful delivery
  • Overseeing the preparation of detailed construction plans and Method Statements to make sure these are in place and approved prior to commencement of activities
  • Understanding and implementing the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets
  • Ensuring all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs are identified
  • Managing the commercial aspects of the project delivering accurate forecasts and estimates
  • Maintaining a practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and waste water design and build projects
  • Building excellent Client relationships
  • Promoting exceptional safety and quality standards to direct and subcontracted workforce
  • Undertaking other duties, training and/or hours of work as reasonably required consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree Qualified (or equivalent qualification) in a construction related discipline
  • Project Management experience gained in a main contracting environment
  • Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance
  • APMP or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in close partnerships with Clients and end users
  • Delivery driven and used to working to set targets
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects to time, cost and quality objectives
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a portfolio of projects with full P/L responsibility
  • Experience of UK water/waste water treatment plants
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health and Safety is desirable
  • Primavera or Power project experience would be advantageous
