Plant Operator (Shift)
In range £25,000 to £28,000pa including shift, plus 25 days holiday, pension etc
Our client currently requires a Plant Operator / Shift Operative / Operations Technician with an agricultural, waste management, services or technical background to execute operations & basic maintenance activities of a 24/7 process plant, working days & nights in a rotating pattern..
As the Plant Operator, you will be responsible for performance of plant under direction of a Production Manager, feeding fuel (using a telescopic forklift), conducting basic routine maintenance & conducting manual plant operations.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible ability to work a shift including both days & nights, in a manufacturing or related environment as part of a small team of operatives. Relevant experience in working as a plant operator / utilities & have a technical or engineering qualification, perhaps being from a marine engineering background or ex-army or Royal Navy background. It would also be very advantageous to hold a forklift licence, or be able to train to gain one.
Salary in the range £25,000 to £28,000 including shift allowance plus benefits & including 25 days plus bank holidays. 55 Hours of work per week & working Monday to Friday 7am til 7pm days one week, nights the next, with some Saturday morning work. (During busy times there is also a 1 in 2 element of weekend work). Full details to be discussed at interview stage.
You ideally should also hold a full, clean driving licence & be able to easily commute to site.
