Procurement Officer
Competitive Salary

We are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join an established company in the Power Generation industry based in Southampton. Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, you will be involved with all purchasing and supplier management in addition to sourcing new suppliers.

The client specialises in designing and manufacturing Turbochargers for Power Generation units. Through their Electric Turbo Compounding technology, they can deliver significant improvements to power generation components.

Key Responsibilities
As Procurement Officer, you will be expected to perform the following but not limited to…

  • Responsible for all aspects of Suppler Relationship, including managing expectations and performance
  • Raising Purchase Orders
  • Securing best commercial value for transactions including the negotiation of Supplier agreements and contracts
  • Source and select new suppliers through a tendering/quotation process
  • Measure Supplier performance and manage quality, delivery and cost through KPI's
  • Management of non-discrete order methods (Purchase Schedules, Kanban, VMI etc)
  • Ensure delivery dates are met and liaise with suppliers to hit target dates
  • Process invoice and receiving queries within set time limits
  • Implement Lean Suppler Methods with Suppliers as per commercial agreements
  • Produce KPI's; Purchase Price Control (PPV), Supplier Performance, Overdue PO's, Supplier on-time delivery etc

Background, Education and Experience
To be considered for the Procurement Officer vacancy, candidates should have:

  • CIPS Level 4 qualified or equivalent experience
  • Working experience in Negotiation and Contract drafting
  • Working experience in production buying and supplier sourcing
  • Understanding of ERP and planning systems
