Operations Manager - Biomass

Astute are looking for an Operations Manager to join the team at a Biomass Plant located near Sittingbourne, Kent.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, as Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the Power Plant operates within Environmental constraints and regulations at all times and in line with the operational philosophy of the company
  • The day to day monitoring of Plant efficiency and directing the Operations staff to optimise the Plant accordingly
  • Preparing the annual budget for the Operations department and work within this budget
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems, policies and procedures, ensuring that systems are in place to maintain safe systems of work for company and contractors staff
  • Deputising for the Facility Manager when required

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HND or above in an Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role in a 24/7 process environment; Power Station, Energy from Waste, Refinery, Biomass etc
  • Working knowledge of H&S, CDM and PSSR legislation
  • High Pressure Steam Raising Plant experience
