We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join a truly innovative and ground-breaking organisation specialising in the treatment of hazardous and clinical waste across the UK. They pride themselves on utilising some of today's most advanced technology in the form of pyrolysis to either incinerate or reformat hazardous waste products into a usable RDF. Working as an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of their facility in Bristol. With the business expanding rapidly and their growing focus on the Clinical and Hazardous waste sector, this is an exciting time to join this business and their innovative technology.
About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join their team at their fully operational Hazardous Waste Treatment plant in Bristol.
Working closely with the directors, you will be responsible for:
- Day to day running of the plant, ensuring it is functioning in a safe and profitable manner.
- Working closely with the Operational and Engineering team to maximise production and ensure the business meets its KPI's.
- Driving forward a positive safety culture throughout the business and developing and implementing continuous improvement plans.
- Ensuring environmental compliance is maintained, working with all staff to ensure the conditions of the Waste Management Licence and necessary legislation is strictly adhered to.
- Pushing further training needs and development of site staff accordingly.
- Production of risk assessments and safe working procedures for all tasks carried out on site.
To be considered for this position, would are expected to have previous experience of running a Waste Treatment facility with a COTC covering transfer (haz) or treatment (MRF/bio/general), alongside being IOSH certificated. NEBOSH would be desirable but not essential.
The candidate should have substantial line management experience and a sound knowledge of waste treatment processes as well as past experience in a heavy industry / process lead environment.
This could include prior knowledge in Transfer Station, Construction, C&D waste, MRF (Material Recovery Facility), Hazardous Waste Treatment, Wood Shredding Site, In-Vessel Composting, EFW, Demolition, HWRC, WEEE, Resource Recovery, Recycling, Demolition, Aggregates, etc.
