Up to £37,000 + Benefits



Introduction

Astute Technical Recruitment are working exclusively with Severn Waste Services, a joint venture between FCC and Urbaser, to supply all Operations, Maintenance and Administrative staff to the new EnviRecover Energy from Waste plant currently under construction in Hartlebury, Worcestershire.

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance department of this new build EFW facility. The Mechanical Technician will play an integral part in ensuring the facilities mechanical systems are maintained and in working order to ensure maximum availability.

The EnviRecover (aka Hartlebury Energy from Waste) plant will combust municipal waste at rate of 200,000 tonnes per year and produce in excess of 16 MW to export to the grid, enough to power over 20,000 homes.



What will I be doing?

Typical duties of a Mechanical Technician will include:

  • Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets.
  • Ensuring compliance with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements
  • Undertaking / assisting in plant developments & projects
  • Setting to work and supervising contractors
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the sites CMMS.
  • Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.



What experience does role require?

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity, it's important you meet certain criteria including.

  • A recognised engineering qualification at HNC / ONC level (or equivalent)
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems. (pumps, compressors, steam raising plant, boilers, valves)
  • Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as Power Generation, Petrochemical, Steel Works etc.
  • Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential.
