Manufacturing Process Engineer

12 - 18 Month Contract


Up to £30 Per Hour, Limited Company Rate

Our Client is a global manufacturer with a strong industry presence. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to work for our Client on a long-term contract basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to production lines including problem solving to maximize output
  • Root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are identified and fulfilled
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider organisation to ensure the quality and manufacturability of products
  • Defining, developing and implementing improvement projects to meet agreed objectives
  • Assisting in the analysis and implementation of effective solutions to enable the successful completion of New Product Introductions, cost reduction innovations and continuous improvement projects to meet company targets
  • Making use of change procedures, test & defects analysis date, PDCA processes and SPC principles
  • Supporting the manufacturing operations to ensure production processes operate effectively and that cost effective and efficient working practises are utilised
  • Ensuring standard operating procedures, work instructions and control plans are defined, documented and communicated across the organisation
  • Conducting risk assessments on manufacturing equipment, processes or procedures

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree Qualified in an Engineering or Science Discipline or equivalent
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing and Advanced Product Quality Planning background
  • Proven track record of Project Management in a manufacturing environment
  • Considerable experience of working in a manufacturing engineering support role, including taking a leading role in process management
  • Ability to look beyond current processes and bring alternative experience and ideas to improve current manufacturing processes
  • Highly motivated with the ability to undertake multiple tasks methodically and efficiently and meet required timescales
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully integrate into multidisciplinary and cross functional teams and discuss complex issues with staff at all levels
  • Hands-on with a creative approach to problem solving
  • Able to hit the ground running, lead change and develop new ways of working
