Maintenance Manager - Energy from Waste


Permanent - Up to £60,000 + Benefits

Our client is a leading international business within the sustainable waste industry. They are looking for a Maintenance Manager to work in their new Energy from Waste facility located in Derby. You will be responsible for managing and developing the Maintenance Department on a brand new facility.

The main responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Manage and develop the maintenance team ensuring that it is appropriately resourced and that the team are trained to deliver the requirements of contracts.
  • Being responsible for the Planning and Management of Staff and Contractors carrying out planned maintenance at shutdowns both quarterly and annually.
  • Producing forecast of maintenance costs, contribute to financial planning and budget development (Working within the constraints of the budget).
  • Assess the performance of the equipment and identify areas of concern for improvements. Liaising with Technology providers to overcome issues and problems.
  • Ensure all Maintenance Activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Share best practise with Maintenance Managers at other sites

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills:

  • HNC Level or above Qualification in a relevant Engineering subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation).
  • Management experience gained from relevant industry (Energy from Waste, Waste to Energy, Biomass, CCGT Power Station, Refinery, Petrochemical, Coal Fired Plant, Gas Fired Plant).
  • Experience working on Steam raising plant and Power Generation equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous improvement and meeting business needs.

  • Coaching & Training skills - Ability to support management and other staff as needed to implement the IMS
  • Have a can do attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative with minimal input from Senior Management
