Lead EC&I Technician - Power Generation

Glenrothes, Scotland

Salary up to £46,000 + excellent benefits


Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician to join the maintenance department of a bio energy power generation plant near Glenrothes in Scotland. The plant generates around 7MW of power, enough to power roughly 10,000 homes. As the Lead EC&I Technician you will be responsible for supporting plant operations by performing planned and reactive maintenance on all EC&I assets across the plant to minimise plant downtime and maximise availability.

The Job

Reporting in to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Organising and carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to ensure efficient operation of the site and to maximise plant availability.
  • Ensuring maintenance plans and targets are achieved efficiently and ensuring all health, safety and environmental procedures and legislations are adhered to.
  • Support in the supervision of the contractors on site and conduct plant and area safety inspections when required.
  • Making sure all reports and logs are kept up to date via the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
  • Following all safe systems of work including carrying out risk assessments and issuing permits.
  • Suggest plant improvements / modifications in order improve the overall operation of the facility


The Candidate

  • A relevant technical qualification at ONC / HNC / HND level or equivalent in electrical / C&I engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in EC&I maintenance in a heavy process industry such as power generation, chemical plant, paper mill, manufacturing, refinery etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of control systems and Instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level)
  • Ideally experience with one of the following PLC software platforms - Logix500, Step 7, TIA Portal
  • Ideally experience with one of the following SCADA applications - FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Intouch
  • HV electrical experience is desirable but not essential.
