Health and Safety Manager
Length of Contract - 6 months
Location - Liverpool
Rate - £350-400
Start Date ASAP
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Health & Safety Manager to work on a large CHP Plant.
Responsibilities include:
  • Planning health and safety throughout the project, from mobilisation through to delivery
  • Assessing upcoming challenges and ensuring health and safety solutions are in place
  • Writing and reviewing project Construction Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and site procedures and practices
  • Monitoring compliance through random and regular site audits, recording findings and ensuring corrective actions are addressed where appropriate
  • Conducting incident or accident investigations, producing accurate reports and proposing recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Leading on Health & Safety, engaging with the workforce across sites and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation
  • Ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to according to Company expectations and legislation requirements
  • Preparing and producing regular metrics and reports on the performance of the H&S Management Systems
  • Constantly assessing opportunities for improvement and sharing best practice across the project and wider organisation

Essential Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and various British standards
  • Experience of working on CHP/CCGT plants
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role ideally within construction or civil engineering or a related industry
  • Relevant quality, environment and auditing experience
  • Experience and knowledge of management systems and methodologies
  • IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of CDM regulations and construction site safety
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of using MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work clearly and accurately under pressure and tight timescales
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, experienced in persuading and influencing stakeholders
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills
