Health and Safety Advisor
Length of Contract 3 months
Location Nottingham/Grenwich
Rate £300-400 a day
Start Date 29/10/18

We have an opportunity for a very high calibre Health & Safety Advisor to join our client on an wood chip biomass plant in Nottingham. You will be responsible for reviewing and updating risk assessments e.g. Transport, COSHH, and Workplace, internal Health & Safety Audits, inspections and Safety walks. You will also assist with internal & external audits to ensure that all relevant information is provided whilst ensuring corrective and preventative actions are closed off within the allocated time frames.

Responsibilities include:

  • Continuously improving safe systems of work, safety processes and procedures to minimise the risk of incidents or accidents
  • Ensuring all incidents or accidents are investigated in a professional and consistent manner and any significant findings are communicated to the Head of operations
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate records of assessments, near misses, safety inspections, audits and actions
  • Updating all Health and Safety documentation to ensure compliance with current UK legislation
  • Ensuring compliance with SHE legislation, industry and company standards
  • Supporting site-based teams on construction Health and Safety
  • Provide advice and support to management teams, employees and subcontractors
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and professional bodies
  • Conduct audits of operational activities on site to ensure the requirements set out in the hse documentation are adhered to



Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant Health and Safety Qualification, ideally NEBOSH or working towards this
  • Proven track record of Health and Safety in the EFW sector
  • Experience of contributing to deliver a high standard of Health and Safety
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient with Microsoft packages: Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
  • Attention to detail
