Environmental Management lead - Hinkley Point C

£50,000 to £55,000 + Shift Pay & Benefits.

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Management Lead to work client side on the Hinkley Point C development in Somerset.

This will be focusing on all construction related environmental issues throughout the course of the project. You will be working as a client representative, managing all environmental issues and relationships with the network of contract companies across the business.

The Job

Reporting to the Environmental Manager you will be responsible for..

  • Developing and maintaining environmental procedures to deliver compliance.
  • Identifying environmental hazards and issues throughout the construction process.
  • Assisting in the upgrade / transition of the environmental management system.
  • Building environmental requirements into service contracts.
  • Environmental incident investigation and reporting.
  • Implementing the environmental performance measurement, review, and reporting requirements.
  • Commenting on contractor environmental management plans.
  • Working with auditors during environmental audits and implementing corrective actions.


The Candidate

Candidates will have a detailed understanding of environmental regulations applicable to operations supporting running of large construction sites.

Experience working with a range of Tier 1 contract businesses is desirable.

Candidates will be educated to degree level in a related discipline (Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering)

Experience of design and delivering environmental and sustainable solutions across large construction projects.

Flexibility is key, as the projects ramps up you will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern that covers nights and weekends.
