Electrical Engineer (HV experience)
Portsmouth
Up to £40,000 plus car
Our client, a power sector / energy organisation who maintain & operate power plants around the UK, are currently seeking to recruit a qualified Electrical Engineer who has an HV engineering background to assist with the operations, running, inspecting & maintaining operational power plant / large engines.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering & working alongside Operations & Maintenance Engineers you will conduct routine visits to sites in support of site teams, attend engine breakdowns, & undertake minor mechanical & electrical works, with basic fault finding. You will also immediately train to be a Competent Person under safety rules.
You should have a degree or foundation degree in electrical engineering & have an understanding of High Voltage (HV) electrical generation &/or distribution systems, including control systems. You should be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
This role will normally be based in Portsmouth but will involve travel to existing & new build sites, hence it will be necessary to hold a driving licence.
Salary £35,000 to £40,000 plus non-contributory pension, life cover & company car & up to 10% bonus.
