Electrical Engineer

Ongoing Contract


Circa £40.00 per hour

Our Client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will work as part of the wider Design Team providing design services and technical expertise. The purpose of the job role is delivering feasibility, scoping, detailed design and construction support to an ongoing asset management programme.

You will be responsible for providing technical support in all areas of Electrical Engineering including Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA). You will be working on projects based in water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure and environmental sectors.


  • Undertaking initial feasibility and scoping through to detailed design
  • Supporting procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover of projects
  • Production of technical reports, calculations, development on design and construction drawings in compliance with industry standards
  • Liaison with a range of key personnel including clients, contractors, suppliers, stakeholders and other relevant third parties to ensure the successful delivery of all projects
  • Providing advice, solutions and successful project outcomes
  • Completing all projects in line with the company's values and procedures


  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering or relevant subject
  • Member (or working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution i.e. IET
  • Experience of working within the water industry
  • Previous experience in the electrical and ICA elements in the design of water / wastewater treatment plants and water / wastewater networks
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the correct specification
  • Computer literate with a strong understanding of MS Office packages
  • Able to work well in a team and autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working in a client serviced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload
