Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Middlesbrough & Other Locations including Europe

Permanent - Up to £48,000

Our client is major player in the Renewable Energies sector with over 200 operational Biogas plants across Europe. With over fifteen years of experience in the construction and project development of Biogas, Wind and Photovoltaic plants, our client is now focusing on the UK. With a 5.1MW Biogas Plant already in operation in the North East, they are now underway in the construction of a new 5MW plant in Teesside to be operational by Q3 2016.

They are looking to recruit an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to bring the plant in line for Operation following Construction. You will also be involved with supervising sub-contractors during the construction process and training the Operational Staff for Hand Over.

You will be working closely with the clients SCADA programmers to ensure the individual plants workings are integrated into the software system.

Once the plant is handed over to the Owner for Operation you will be moved onto another project which could be in the UK or on projects across Europe.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Commissioning of an Anaerobic Digestion or Biogas Plant, an Electrical/Electronic Qualification and have SCADA knowledge.

Typical duties of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer will include:

  • Supervising sub-contractors
  • Overseeing installation of HV/LV and Electronic packages
  • Leading the training of the Owners operational staff for handover
  • Preparing Technical Documents for handover
  • Liaising with the Clients Design team to work on the PLC/SCADA System

What you will need...

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity it's important you meet certain criteria including:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant role, such as an Electrical Technician/EC&I Technician or even Engineer
  • HNC/HND/ONC or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • 17th Edition Qualified
  • PLC/SCADA/DCS knowledge
  • Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments
  • Experience in supervising sub-contractors and training staff
  • An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Previous working experience in a Heavy Process Environment such as Energy from Waste/Anaerobic Digestion/Biogas/Gas Fired Power Station/Coal Fired Power Station/Biomass/Petrochemical/Refinery
