Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Oxfordshire
£40,000 to £55,000 - Dependent on experience


Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical or Electronic Commissioning Engineer to join a world leader in remote handling for hostile environments. This includes Nuclear Fusion, Nuclear Decommissioning and High Energy Physics experiments, both domestically and on a global scale.

This role will suit engineers that are keen to work on cutting edge projects at the forefront of the sector, and be involved with delivering challenging but rewarding solutions to real world problems.


The Job

Working from their headquarters near Oxford, you will report in to the Manufacturing and Assembly Manager and will be working on the commissioning of complex electrical and electro-mechanical plant, including elements of software configuration and programming.

Working across multiple bespoke projects, you will be expected to support with:

  • Analysis of assembly, test and commissioning processes for control panels and related equipment
  • Design, implementation, operation and reporting of test and development systems
  • Derivation of suitable commissioning methodologies
  • Preparation of assembly and testprocedures
  • Organisation, scheduling, and participation in test and commissioning activities
  • Fault finding and diagnosis


The Candidate

The most desirable applicants will hold a recognised engineering degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Control Systems or Electrical Engineering, and a suggested 5 years or more of relevant and demonstrable experience in a number of the following disciplines:

  • Assembly and testing or production of complex equipment
  • Generation of technical documents for assembly, manufacture and testing of electrical and electronic equipment
  • CAD package usage
  • Working with PLCs
  • Commissioning of actuator technologies


Working within a multi-disciplinary team you will be a confident and effective communicator. Experience of the above activities relating to remote handling equipment would be a distinct advantage.
