EICA Design Engineer
Initial 6 Month Contract
East Sussex
Rate - Negotiable

Our Client is a leading global provider of consulting, engineering, construction and management services in water, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. They have planned, designed, built and managed many of the world's largest and most technologically advanced projects and programmes.


We are seeking an EICA Design Engineer, with relevant experience which will include site work to join the inhouse design team. The successful candidate should have a background in the Water sector and will understand the principles of Water and Sewage Treatment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaison with clients to understand their specific requirements
  • Produce design documents which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively.
  • Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
  • Provision of support and design proposals to site teams from pre-construction to construction phase
  • Carryout surveys at site visits
  • Review and approve/comment on sub-contractor designs
  • Responsibility for TW design on nominated projects
  • Produce outline electrical, instrumentation and control design on contracts
  • Mentoring of junior team members


Essential Requirements:

  • HND Qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role with either a Consultancy or Contractor
  • Proven ability to undertake civil and structural design to current codes and standards
  • Thorough knowledge of safety legislation relating to CDM regulations
  • Understanding of geotechnical aspects relating to permanent and temporary works
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to provide innovative solutions that add value to the client
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages
