Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-tech electronic and opto-electronic products, currently require a Laser Development Engineer / Physicist to join their team. You'll be responsible for supporting the design & development of their fibre laser and optical products and technologies.
As a Laser Development Engineer, you will be tasked with:
- Undertaking experimental work to investigate and support the development of their innovative products and fibre laser technologies.
- Developing test methods & equipment required for lab work and prototyping.
- Developing and optimising processing approaches, such as fibre splicing.
- Supporting the design & development of new fibres.
In order to be considered for this position, you will need to be degree qualified (ideally at MEng / MPhys / PhD level) in a relevant discipline such as lasers, optics, physics or engineering. You'll also need to be able to demonstrate a practical approach to technology development which is supported by an understanding of physical principles for fibre laser components and products. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys hands on optical lab work, experimentation and design.
They're offering a competitive salary of up to £30,000 depending on experience, plus an excellent benefits package which includes 25 days holiday, pension scheme and health insurance.
