SALARY Up to £55k with car and full package

Our client is one of the UK's leading Waste Management specialist and as such are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead their Municipal Collections contract that they have with Dover District Council. Where you'll work…
Our client are running a 10 year £70 million contract by Dover District Council working in partnership with Shepway District Council and Kent County Council.
The contract is the first stage in a project being developed between the four East Kent collection authorities; Dover District Council, Shepway District Council, Thanet District Council, Canterbury City Council and the waste disposal authority, Kent County Council. The contract will commence in January 2011 and consists of two phases. From the outset our client will provide joint collection, recycling and street cleansing services for Dover and Shepway for the first time. The new joint arrangement is designed to maximise efficiency and boost recycling with a new weekly food and kitchen waste service introduced in addition to the existing recycling services.

What you'll be doing…
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Contract Manager to lead and develop the "Shaping our Future" strategy and to ensure that all three priorities enhance the performance of the "Contract" in terms of safety, efficiency and leadership capability. You will also be required to build strong and positive partnerships with contract clients to achieve targeted levels of revenue, operational excellence and customer service in line with Veolia procedures and contractual and statutory regulations. You will shape strategic growth by consistently communicating and demonstrating a value led culture and to ensure that our values are lived and breathed by all colleagues and teams.
Your principle responsibilities will be to; Ensure that all contracts are legally compliant and they deliver on its promises through effective policies and procedures, people, safety and fleet;

Your Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications...
To be successful in this role we require you to be educated to degree level (preferably with a recognised management degree) and have extensive experience, gained in transport or waste management.

You must have excellent people management experience with the ability to manage performance and motivate on an individual and team basis. An innovative approach driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking, is required. This role would suit an individual who can demonstrate a well-rounded approach to managing large scale Waste Management contracts with a strong focus on people management, financial controls (including P&L) and client liaison.

A Certificate of Professional Competence (National Road Haulage) would be considered advantageous alongside a certificate of Technical Competence (if not already held, then we would expect you to work towards attaining the qualification within 12 months). You must also be a competent user of all IT applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Apps.
