Our client is one of the UK's leading Waste Management Specialists, with a firm foothold across the whole of Europe and beyond. They pride themselves on their passion and continuous focus on recycling and looking to replenish and reutilise the earth's valuable resources. Working in the heart of their Eastern region you will be covering the Northampton, St Albans, Gerrards Cross and Milton Keynes area where you will be reinforcing their Commercial Waste Operations.
Our client's requirements
With an impressive portfolio of Commercial Waste Contracts under their belts an exciting opportunity has arisen in the East to join and head up their Commercial team and to effectively lead and manage all aspects of the business moving forward. With a firm focus on Safety and Compliance and a strong grasp of the financial aspects of the Contracts, both existing and as part of their continued growth plans, this role creates both a challenging and exciting opportunity for you to really make your mark and help influence the business moving forward.
As the General Manager, you will lead and manage all aspects of the commercial waste business in a safe and legally compliant manner to maximise profitability and deliver first class customer service to our commercial customers.
You will build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with key customers and work in close partnership with the regional sales management team to maximise the potential for growth in local, regional and national accounts.
You will be required to actively support the Regional Director and the Senior Leadership Team in making our business as good as it can be.
You will be responsible for people management processes and procedures and ensuring that they are implemented in line with company policies, whilst engaging with colleagues to promote and deliver the companies priorities and objectives. You will ensure that the development and succession plans for your staff and wider teams are completed and reviewed periodically.
Your past experience and knowledge will include
- Commercial Collection Management experience
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- A proven track record of delivering profitable growth
- Outstanding leadership capability.
- Holder of CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in National Road Haulage
- IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate
- COTC (Transfer station operations) or working towards
