**CAD Design Engineer**
3-Month Front End Engineering (FEED) studies. (Possible extension 6-12 Months).

UK Based (Home Based or Buxton Office, with some site based work)
CAD Design Engineer
As a CAD or computer-aided design technician, you'll use software to create design plans for buildings and machinery
This role will be in the materials, waste, solar, electrical Storage, power, energy from waste sectors, specifically focusing on the integration of civil, structural, process, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Your work will be in 2D design (surface modelling) and 3D design (solid modelling). Designs and models will be developed from a brief and concept planning using OEM equipment files and drawings. The development of configurations and options will be a key part of the development work.
Initially, you'll use surface modelling and this will evolve to a 3D display of a proposed installations to allow colleague engineers and project managers to take a virtual tours around the inside of a new facility / building / installation and consider process / structural / service design options and the management of interfaces and well as follow on activities such as operations and maintenance.
You'll be involved in the preparation of cost estimates on projects, project schedules installation phasing and execution plans. You will also produce documents / details to be used in operational / maintenance manuals for Board review, project review, for engineering use (installation, service and repair technicians) and for client reports.
You will be working on several projects at any one time as part of a small team under the guidance of a lead project manager / design engineer.
Key attributes required:
- You will provide software and license for Navisworks
- You will be able to import and export files using a variety of CAD software types used in the sector in which we operate.
- You will be agile in thinking, assessing and designing options for appraisal.
- You will bring lessons learned from past projects forward and share these with the project teams when and where relevant. You will be able to work as part of a small team to challenging deadlines.
