We are currently recruiting an Assistant Maintenance Manager to a recently commissioned energy from waste power station in Yorkshire. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and running of the maintenance department to ensure plant and apparatus are in full working order with minimum downtime. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a new facility in the early stages of its life cycle.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting in to the O&M Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing a directing a team of multi skilled engineers and technicians in order to maintain maximum plant availability
  • Management of the sites CMMS system
  • Assisting in the planning, management and execution of outages working closely with the O&M Manager
  • Preparing the annual budget for the maintenance department for review and work within this budget
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out with the highest regard for health and safety compliance
  • Managing and supervising contractors

What you will need...

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity it's important you meet criteria including:

  • A relevant qualification at HND/HNC level in mechanical engineering discipline. Qualifications below this level will be considered with extensive power / EfW experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory engineering/maintenance role, ideally with solid knowledge of pressure parts, boilers and rotating plant. Candidates with EfW experience will be favoured. Experience in other heavy process plants will also be considered e.g. pharmaceutical, refinery, paper mill, steel works etc
  • Experience leading teams of engineers, technicians and contractors in a heavy process environment
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience in the EfW or waste management sector would be desirable but is not essential
