About the role:

Astute's Nuclear/ Defence team are working with a leading company in the Defence sector to recruit for a Telecommunications Engineer to work on an initial 6 month contract, with a chance of being extended beyond this

The Satellite Communications Engineer role comes with an hourly rate of £80.00- £100.00 per hour, Umbrella (inside IR35), depending on experience.
Key skills:
  • The design of new IP and VoIP system, and upgrades to current infrastructure, to deliver new service capability.
  • Ensuring new services and systems meet UK security requirements.
  • Managing obsolescence within the existing system to ensure the system remains supportable and compliant to security requirements.
  • Managing the installation and configuration of new system elements.
  • Test and commissioning of new equipment and services.
  • Providing third line support to operations teams.
  • Who we're looking for:
  • Cisco accreditation at least CCNA, CCNP preferred.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of IP communication networks.
  • Knowledge of VoIP network architectures
  • Have worked at a telecoms or satellite communication company.
  • Live SC/ DV clearance
Location, remuneration and timeframe of the Satellite Communications Engineer role:
  • Bristol
  • £70.00- £90.00 per hour, Umbrella
  • 6 month contract, likely to be extended
  • Hybrid working model
