Introduction
Astute are proudly partnered with our client who provide environmental and planning solutions across a variety of projects. We are looking for a Principal/Senior Consultant to join the growing team in Environmental Assessment and Consenting. You will have experience working in projects within the renewable energy sector and a minimum of 7 years' experience as an established EIA Practitioner or Environmental Planner. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Technical Director and Senior Leadership Team in the management of large complex projects and contribute to the development of the business.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Principal/Senior Consultant you will be responsible for:
  • Managing the delivery of a variety of projects both in size and nature, including costing, scheduling, and invoicing of subcontractors.
  • Preparing tenders, sourcing quotes and submitting fee proposals.
  • Supporting with identification of project risk and plan appropriately
  • Completing site surveys and desk top assessments to provide the technical assessments required for project.
  • Act as the Key Account Manager for larger clients
  • Providing Directors and stakeholders with technical reports
  • Growth of the business, take action on additional development opportunities through current clients, referrals and industry events.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior consultants
  • Assist in the management of the EIA and Consenting team including business planning, forecasting and finance & budgeting. Deputising for the team where needed.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A Masters Degree in an Environmental discipline
  • Ideally a Chartered Environmentalist or Town Planner
  • 7 years' experience with EIA and Consenting
  • In-depth understanding of the planning and environmental assessment legislations across the UK.
  • Renewables project experience
  • Project Management skills - ability to plan, work to budgets and deliver to deadlines
  • Full Driving Licence
