Introduction
Astute Technical Recruitment are working with a leading energy company within in the Biomass sector. They are currently recruiting for a Boiler Operator to join their team and be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a Biomass boiler based in Suffolk.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for:
  • The safe and efficient operations of the plant which includes a biomass boiler and auxiliary plant.
  • Carrying out first-line maintenance on equipment on site
  • Daily and weekly checks on all steam raising and associated systems
  • Ensuring adherence with Health and Safety at all times
  • Writing risks assessments and method statements
  • Completing service reports & all other required paperwork
  • Working a shift pattern to ensure 7-days a week presence of the team on site
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A time-serviced apprentice or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline would be ideal
  • Experience within a similar environment, working on steam raising plant as an operator such as; power generation, chemical plants, CHP plants, Marine Engineering etc.
  • A BOAS qualification is highly desirable
  • Royal Navy Marine Engineering with watch-keeping experience will also be considered.
