This is a very unique and rare opportunity with project origination and overall development of a new business unit within an existing global company being at the forefront of the role. This is a fantastic role for someone who has an entrepreneurial streak and who has a huge passion for anaerobic digestion.
About the role:
Astute's Renewables team is retained by a global business who own and/or operate 1GW of renewable energy assets to recruit a Business Development Manager / Project & Business Development Manager in the UK market.

The Business Development Manager role comes with a negotiable salary and financial package to be discussed with Astute and comes with an almost limitless growth opportunity.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Head of Growth you will:
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, pursue and develop new business opportunities (greenfield or acquisition) for the client's UK portfolio
  • Lead, alongside the Head of Growth, in developing the strategy to grow in the UK market and action these plans
  • Assessing the feasibility and financial viability of potential ventures as well as setting targets, milestones and metrics to measure success
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations and more
  • Execution of project development from opportunity origination through to FID
  • Discovering and helping to manage M&A opportunities
  • Providing thought leadership to the company and sector, staying close to all news in the market, including subsidies, tariffs and the like
  • Be open to a future of project origination for different renewable energy technologies in different geographies too

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • An excellent working knowledge of the AD market and sector
  • A degree in a relevant commercial and/or engineering discipline would be advantageous
  • Experience in dealing with mergers and acquisitions is a huge bonus
  • A background from a funder or an operational background with excellent commercial and business acumen is required
Personal skills:
The Business Development Manager role would suit someone who is:
  • Hugely passionate about the AD sector
  • Someone who is entrepreneurial, decisive and can make tough decision
  • Highly organised, resilient and just as comfortable speaking with C-suite to funders and AD Operators too
  • The ability and aptitude to develop relationships, gain buy-in and to create long-lasting bonds
Salary and benefits of the Business Development Manager role:
  • Salary up to £85,000
