Based at Operational sites; Scotland, North Lincolnshire, East Anglia

About the role:
Astute's Power team are working with a renewable energy company who own and operate a fleet of Biomass stations across the UK. As a Control System Support Engineer, you'll be supporting the fleet with front line engineering support ensuring OT (Operational Technology) is always available.

The Control Systems Support Engineer position is a critical role within the business, and you'll be key in identifying OT faults, carry out rollouts, update & fixes etc.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Control Systems Support Engineer you will be:

  • Responding to OT system faults
  • Providing on site & remote support & rectification
  • Monitoring connectivity across the fleet
  • Supporting the implementation of OT policy & standards
  • Support in the development of assets
  • Provide training and support to staff
  • Maintain a variety of documentation including management of change, asset registers and the CMMS (Computers Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Support the OT network

Professional qualifications:

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Ideally at a HNC / HND in a relevant Engineering / Computing background
  • Qualified as a CySec Specialist (TUV Rheinland) or NIST Cyber Security or similar.
  • At least three years working in the engineering sector in a similar process plant, this could include a COMAH site, refinery, steel works, power station (biomass, energy from waste, thermal) etc
  • Ideally experience with a variety of DCS / SCADA systems including Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Siemens S7, ABB800xa, Melody and Infi90

Personal skills:

The Control System Support Engineer role would suit someone who is:

  • Able to travel to sites across the UK
  • Competent at OT fault identification and problem solving
  • Competent in working within a Power Station environment
