Introduction
We are currently recruiting an Electrical Technician to join the Maintenance department of a Biomass Power Station in Suffolk. You will be to providing front line maintenance at the facility and be responsible for all aspects of the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance on the electrical equipment and systems on site.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Undertake and support the daily planned maintenance activities
  • Complete fault finding, diagnosis and repairs of the electrical plant which include motors, pumps, fans, electrical systems etc
  • Undertake measures to improve the plant reliability, efficiency, and performance of the plant proactively, always in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain the site CMMS and record all historical works undertaken.
  • Supervise 3rd party subcontracts on all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Complete health and safety paperwork following company guidelines.
  • Work in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, being available to respond to issues on site and support them accordingly.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A relevant technical qualification such as a City & Guilds Level 3/Apprenticeship in a relevant electrical engineering discipline.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Maintenance environment on a Power Station/Heavy Process Plant. This could be Energy from Waste, CCGT, Biomass, CHP, Nuclear, Petrochemical etc.
  • Having experience with mechanical systems beneficial
  • Ideally an IOSH or similar certificate
