Introduction
Astute Technical Recruitment are working with a leading suppler of processing technology into the food, beverage, marine, energy and oil & gas sectors. We are looking for a Commissioning & Service Engineer focusing on separation & flow equipment.

With their Head Office in Milton Keynes, we are looking for someone situated along the M1 in the area who is happy working out of the office and at customer sites, nationwide. You'll be involved with starting up and testing new equipment, carrying out technical assessments and liaising with the project team and customers for installation work.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Utilities Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • As part of the nationwide projects team you'll be involved with successfully starting up, commissioning & testing new separation & flow technology equipment.
  • Carrying out reviews of installations, GA Drawings, P&ID's and EPLAN as part of technical assessments.
  • Working alongside the automation engineer to plan full system integration.
  • Preparation of commissioning documentation.
  • Communicating with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Review of the warranty process.
  • Supervise site installation.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers inline with the commissioning programme.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly works, electrical inspections and commissioning on control panels and instrumentation.
  • Configuration of HMI's and drive units.
  • Any other duties as required (full job specification is available on request).
Skills & Qualifications
To be considered for the role of Commissioning Engineer we are looking for someone with the following criteria (essential):
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
  • Experience in servicing / maintaining / commissioning process flow & separation equipment such as pumps, mixers, centrifuges etc.
  • It would be advantageous if you had process engineering experience
  • Full UK driving licence
