Test and Commissioning Technician
£24-£30k Dependent on experience
Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaianing acess to site
Candidates will need to be eligable to undergo SC Clearence
It is the role of the Test & Commissioning Technician to install, commission, test and subsequently maintain equipment at my clients business in Portsmouth and on-site when required.
Set-up, configure and test existing equipment ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
Carrying out activities in line with the company's test procedures.
Investigating problems, diagnosing/repairing faults.
Install, commission, test and subsequently maintain equipment at the site in Portsmouth and on site when required.
Work with engineering and technical staff to develop new and existing equipment.
Ensure documentation and test results are recorded as required.
Feedback design and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel. Run system demonstrations.
To control and maintain professional standards within the test areas.
Ability to read and understand drawings
Decision-making / problem solving skills
Strong self-management and organisation skills, and attention to detail
Strong presentation skills, confident speaker and professionally presented when interacting with customers
Flexible, enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and able to work well under own initiative
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Must be a team player
Preferred but not essential:
HNC/HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
Time served apprenticeship
Experience of working within a Defence environment
Knowledge of Naval standards
Ability to use Microsoft suite, and analyse data within Excel
Some travel to dockyards in the UK & overseas may occasionally be required
