They are looking for a Mechanical Sustaining Engineer who will be responsible for carrying out duties within the Technical department, including analysis, problem solving, design, engineering documentation and process improvement. The successful candidate will report directly to the Mechanical Team Leader.

Responsibilities and Person Requirements:
Proven product design skills, with tooling & manufacturing knowledge of high-volume plastic injection moulded components and small metal fabrications.
A methodical and efficient work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
Understand problems quickly, demonstrate curiosity during root cause analysis and generate effective solutions.
Create simplified documentation that can be easily understood by others.
Be able to understand complex links between issues, identifying any conflicting requirements.
A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently without close supervision, seeing things through to completion.
This role also includes the following duties/requirements:
Collaborate with other team members and Suppliers to ensure that products are optimised for sustainable manufacture. Use data analysis to help reduce the impact of defects in production. Effectively participate in effective DFMEAs & PFMEAs, using lessons learnt from other projects to minimise risk.
Identify, evaluate & introduce new technologies, cost reductions or materials where appropriate.
Propose improvements to designs and update product documentation through the Design Change Order process.
Use Solidworks part & assembly modelling tools to update designs and documentation.
Checking your own work as well as other team member's drawings and documentation. To multi-task in a demanding and evolving environment. Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes. Ensure work adheres to applicable industry and business standards.
It would be an advantage also to be able to demonstrate any of the following:
Working with high volume manufacturing.
Knowledge of product approvals.
The Fire Safety industry.
