We are currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Technician, to carry out a variety of daily maintenance tasks on a state-of-the-art Process Plant near Crawley. Our client is a leading organisation within the waste management & renewable energy sectors, with the opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for:
- Planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site, as well as responding to breakdowns.
- Mechanical maintenance on heavy process plant / power generating equipment (conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulics etc.)
- Ensuring that the plant runs at optimum capacity with minimal downtime.
- Working as part of a shift pattern (days & nights).
- Adhering to health & safety requirements at all time.
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this position, you should ideally have a mechanical engineering qualification (apprenticeship / HNC / HND / City & Guilds / NVQ etc.). You should also have relevant experience maintaining large / heavy process equipment (pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics etc.), and be flexible towards working shifts.
The package on offer for this position includes an attractive salary in the range of up £33,000 depending on experience, plus benefits including overtime. The shift pattern for this role working on a 4 on / 4 off days & nights rotation.
