Maintenance Engineer - Renewable Energy

Introduction…

We're working with one of our trusted clients to source a Maintenance Engineer for a position based in between Inverness and Elgin to be mobile between a few Anaerobic Digestion plants. Our client is a hugely reputable business within the waste to energy and waste management sectors and this is an excellent opportunity to move into a thriving sector.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Area Plant Manager, as a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • To support the safe, efficient and effective running of three biogas plants
  • To complete scheduled service as well as reactive maintenance
  • Carrying out installation and repair work to pipes, pumps and electric valves
  • To diagnose faults and create a schedule to fix them
  • To recognise preventative measures to avoid future issues and implement them
  • Liaising with suppliers and obtain best quotes from suppliers
  • Completing associated job sheets
  • Assessing plant machinery and creating a PPM plan
  • To ensure best practice and compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Other duties as required



Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a multi-skilled engineer (mechanical or electrical bias)
  • Full driving licence is essential as the role will be between 3 sites
  • Computer literacy: must be able to complete reports, spreadsheets and manage emails
  • Problem-solving ability



Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant HND/HNC/City & Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in a similar environment, ie wastewater, water treatment plants, distilleries, refineries, recycling plants etc
  • A basic knowledge of Anaerobic Digestion/Biogas and/or the willingness to learn
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • A Telehandler licence



Marine Engineers with a maintenance background would also be encouraged to apply for this role.
