Environmental Engineer - Consultancy
Circa £35-45k DOE
I'm looking to speak with environmental engineering professionals possessing solid environmental risk and impact assessment capability, ideally gained in the defence sector and preferably in a consultancy environment.
My client is building on their strong success in the UK defence sector and looking to add additional capability to an already well established and high performing team.
PLEASE NOTE, DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS ROLE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL NEED TO EITHER ALREADY HOLD OR BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A MINIMUM OF UK SECURITY CHECK (SC) LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE. ANY APPLICANTS NOT MEETING THESE CRITERIA WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISREGARDED.
With a broad grounding in environmental engineering methodology and its application you will be confident providing the relevant advice, systems and regulatory guidance to solve customer challenges across a wide variety of areas within the defence related equipment and infrastructure procurement through to operations and support environment.
Operating in an internal project management capacity you will be able to scope and understand customer requirements, develop technical processes, plan and manage timely completion of activities and then construct and deliver credible and accurate technical reports and presentations to give confidence in your proposed solutions.
Operating in a client facing capacity you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement with both internal and external customers, to include identifying and securing future business opportunities.
Experienced in environmental engineering, ideally within the defence sector, you will also be comfortable forging strong relationships with other technical disciplines and teams, both internally and in an external client facing setting. You will be confident to assist with the production of bids and tenders, alongside providing technical support to business winning activity and conducting your own work with a keen commercial awareness.
In addition to this the successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge of and experience with:
- ISO14001, POEMS, and JSP418 standards, their implications to client's activities, and the ability to clearly explain these to a non-specialised audience
- Environmental risk and impact assessment studies, documentation, and reporting
- Development, implementation and maintenance of EMS, both organisational and within a project specific environment
- Project management skills
- CEnv or working towards
Due to the nature of the work conducted, you will need to be eligible to obtain at least UK SC (Security Check) level security clearance.
What's on offer
The opportunity to join a globally respected engineering consultancy active across multiple sectors combines with a solid salary / benefits package and a proven commitment to training and development activity at all career levels.
While you will be expected to be collaborative in your own approach to work, occasionally operating from client sites and attending relevant industry events, this will be rewarded with flexible working and an industry leading benefits package to include the opportunity to purchase up to an additional 15 days leave on top of the standard 25.
