Introduction

Our Client is one of the UK's leading Waste Management and Resource specialists and as such they are looking for an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join one of their key Recycling facilities in Dagenham. Working as their EC&I Technician you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment, assisting in maximising the production abilities daily.

What you will be doing

As the EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance
  • Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and route cause analysis techniques
  • Maintenance on PLCs, motors, inverter drives, etc.
  • Providing EC&I support to plant upgrade projects, supporting the Lead EC&I Engineer
  • Gain knowledge and experience of the plant and the various control systems on-site.
  • Using computer systems to interrogate and modify PLC's, Inverters and other systems.
  • Support in planning and implementing plant improvements.
  • Testing and inspection, carrying out calibration, certification or legal compliance of plant equipment assigned to you.
  • Working as part of a shift pattern, working to PPM schedules and SAP systems.
  • Other duties as required.

This is 4 on 4 off day shift position working early and late shifts. Please only apply if this is suitable.

What you will need

To be considered for this position, candidates must have relevant Electrical qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

You should have experience working in a heavy process environment (ideally waste management, power generation, industrial plant, manufacturing etc.) and a working knowledge of maintenance practices including electrical fault-finding and diagnostics on PLC equipment, 3-phase systems and Inverters etc.

Experience of Instrumentation would be beneficial however this role would also suit a more junior Electrical Technician looking to develop their skill-set in instrumentation and controls.
