My client is a leading provider of high technology products, systems and tools to the world's leading industrial companies and scientific research communities


Primary Purpose:

Leading a team in a continuous change manufacturing environment and according to the current and future requirements of the output and business plan you will be required to:
  • manage resource
  • materials & supply issues
  • quality & cost
  • health and safety
  • manage performance


Key Responsibilities

  • From master production plan, produce team plan and manage team workload ensuring all milestones are achieved
  • Ensure maintenance and ownership of the MRP system
  • Lead board meetings and deputise for Production Manager as required
  • Agree and implement measures and targets, monitor and control performance, report on progress and initiate corrective action as required (e.g. quality, on time delivery, yield, rework and scrap)
  • Continually evaluate and maintain staffing and equipment levels to reflect demand
  • With the support of the Production Manager, proactively manage the performance and development of the team and its members
  • Initiate and implement best practice process, techniques and continuous improvement methods in co-operation with the production engineering and process improvement teams
  • Establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with other managers throughout the business
  • With support from the Production Manager and the HR Team, initiate and manage grievance and disciplinary issues that are unresolved within the team
  • Implement Quality policy and procedures as defined in the quality system
  • Be aware of and ensure team compliance with Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Identify team customers both internally and externally and strive to fully satisfy their needs
  • Carry out any additional tasks which may be reasonably requested by the company


Person and Role Requirements:
Relevant Supervisory qualification preferred but not essential
Resource Planning
Evidence of successfully managing a manufacturing team
