Junior Field Service Technician - Utility Scale Solar and Storage
North East Region - York to Hull
£26,000 to £32,000 + benefits

Astute are partnered with one of the most reputable sustainable energy businesses in the UK and a pioneer in the sector. The company develop, construct, own and operate their own renewable energy assets and we're looking for a (Junior) Field Service Technician to attend customers' sites, maintaining solar ground mounted PV and Battery Storage systems on a day-to-day basis, carrying out maintenance on installations, utilising and testing solar PV and Battery Storage systems, performing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance as directed.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Field Services Manager, as a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the undertaking of planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
  • Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
  • Assisting with site surveys requests as required
  • Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
  • Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
  • Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping
  • Complying with all aspects of the company's ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001 / Environmental - ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme
  • Participating in an on-call rota in the future
  • Working with senior colleagues on a development plan through the business

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 electrical qualifications or equivalent
  • 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
  • Ideally at least a year's experience in electrical/O&M work on utility scale solar sites, although not essential
  • A dynamic and flexible attitude when it comes to call outs and occasional overnight stays
  • A full and clean UK driving licence
