Junior Field Service Technician - Utility Scale Solar and Storage

Astute are partnered with one of the most reputable sustainable energy businesses in the UK and a pioneer in the sector. The company develop, construct, own and operate their own renewable energy assets and we're looking for a (Junior) Field Service Technician to attend customers' sites, maintaining solar ground mounted PV and Battery Storage systems on a day-to-day basis, carrying out maintenance on installations, utilising and testing solar PV and Battery Storage systems, performing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance as directed.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Field Services Manager, as a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the undertaking of planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
- Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
- Assisting with site surveys requests as required
- Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation
- Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
- Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
- Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping
- Complying with all aspects of the company's ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001 / Environmental - ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company's continuous improvement programme
- Participating in an on-call rota in the future
- Working with senior colleagues on a development plan through the business
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 electrical qualifications or equivalent
- 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
- Ideally at least a year's experience in electrical/O&M work on utility scale solar sites, although not essential
- A dynamic and flexible attitude when it comes to call outs and occasional overnight stays
- A full and clean UK driving licence
