Astute are working with a unique business who are looking for a Cathodic Protection Technician to join their team. The client provides operational and engineering services to fuel and gas pipelines as well as critical national infrastructure.
Role and Responsibilities
The Cathodic Protection Technician will be responsible for:
- Plan and conduct routine monitoring of CP and corrosion control systems for pipeline, tanks and plant piping
- Maintain, repair and install replacement CP equipment
- Perform and support more specialised CP surveys (e.g. CIPS, DCVG, PCM, Interference Testing / Investigation, Current Drain Test etc)
- Identify faults / issues and performing initial troubleshooting and methodical and structured fault Ensure projects are delivered to specification, in a timely manner and within budget
- Data analysis & reporting to assist the Senior CP Engineer and wider Integrity Team
- Procurement of CP materials, parts and tools
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Good understanding of the principles for cathodic protection including criteria, survey technique, equipment, installations, standards and good practices
- Years' experience in a corrosion management / CP role in a relevant industrial environment
- Experience of working on construction projects and the supervision of such
- A good understanding of the UK pipeline industry or similar high hazard industries
- Excellent knowledge of H&S, ideally SMSTS or similar
- ICORR Level 2 Certification (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving License
