Planning Engineer
Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater
Salary of £35,000 - £40,000

Astute are proudly partnered with a leading company that are a combination of 3 business units: Engineering, Manufacturing and Support, all involved in metal working and design. Our client is looking for a Planning Engineer to support the development and maintain the site project programmes in line with contract and internal requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities
As the Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing schedules using Primavera P6 / MSP for on-site activities
  • Updating schedules within agreed timeframes, frequency and reporting progress to management and the central planning team
  • Performing site walk arounds and communicating on progress and issues
  • Preparation of weekly progress reports for ongoing site and workshop activities.
  • Having a good understanding of the projects overall plan and structure
  • Recording minutes for internal and external meetings
  • Liaising and working with suppliers and partners on project planning
  • Managing project risks, highlighting issues, hold ups and managing them
  • Supporting the project control process to a high standard.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering
  • Experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Projects
  • Knowledge of project planning principles and techniques
  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines
