Salary - £45,000 to £55,000 plus company benefits
The Role
We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a fast-growing innovative business which designs, builds, operates, maintains and finances low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems for communities across the UK.
The Quantity Surveyor lead responsibility will be to provide procurement, commercial support and QS activities to projects during the pre-construction and build phases. In addition, the role will include pricing and bidding for new energy network projects to grow the our Clients Business, working closely with and supported by the wider Business. Projects will range from single site boiler room and energy centre installations or servicing through to large new build and retrofit district heating schemes.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing support on new bids.
- Cost estimation and pricing of projects at bid stage either from first principles or other methods.
- Quantities take off.
- Procurement and tendering sub-contract packages for on-going projects. Contract administration, including task like carrying out monthly valuations, issuing payment certificates, agreeing final accounts, communication with sub-contractors.
- Submitting payment applications and other notices to Clients.
- Cost planning, cash flow forecasting and cost reporting for on-going projects.
- Measure and value contract variations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Formal qualifications in estimating / quantity surveying / engineering or related discipline to degree level.
- Minimum three years post-graduate experience within an M&E Contractor or Quantity Surveying practice.
- Familiarity with pricing bids and participating in tenders.
- Familiarity with standard forms of contracts, either JCT or NEC.
- Commercial & contractual understanding of construction with a focus to mechanical services.
- Understanding and awareness of UK engineering and construction regulations and standards, including CDM would be a plus
Salary & Benefits:
Salary - £45,000 - £55,000
Company Benefits - Accommodation & Travel will be reimbursed when needed, Annual bonus (8-10% of base salary), laptop and mobile.
