Safety Engineer / Hazard Studies - Nuclear New Build

I have an incredible opportunity for a safety focused engineer with experience of complex engineering hazard studies to join the team responsible for delivering the challenging nuclear island portion of one of the largest scale engineering projects in Europe at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Hazard Studies Engineer you will be responsible for conducting studies relating to internal and external hazards (such as extreme cold, internal explosion, pipework ruptures and earthquakes…) on various plant buildings in order to verify that classified equipment meets the protection requirements. .
General duties in each case would be expected to include:
From Flamanville 3 feedback and analysis of the UK modifications, the Hazard Studies Engineer will have to propose some changes/optimisation to the Layout Team in order to de-risk at an early stage, the design related to hazard protection requirements.

The Hazard Studies Engineer will also be attached to one dedicated building, and will be the correspondent for the integration of all the hazard studies (such as internal flooding, external explosion, etc.) in the early stages of the design and with the support of referent engineer.
They will work in conjunction with the Building Group Leaders, the Nuclear Safety Team, the System Engineers, Civil Engineers and Plant Layout Engineers.
Skills & Qualifications
Whilst previous nuclear project exposure would be a distinct advantage it is not a requirement, and any transferable large scale safety critical sector experience will be considered.

Salary & Package

Package details will include:
- Pension - 8% of gross basic salary + voluntary contribution
