Maintenance Operator - Anaerobic Digestion

£30,000 to £35,000 DOE + benefits

Astute are proud to be working exclusively with our client in the energy-from-waste sector who're looking for a Maintenance Operator / Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on an anaerobic digestion plant in Basingstoke. The client is a rapidly growing organisation who're looking to add to their team and help drive forward their next stage of growth and optimisation of this existing plant.

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Senior Plant Supervisor, as a Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Planned and reactive maintenance on a range of heavy industrial equipment and process plant, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, CHP, agitators, mixers
- Putting your own stamp on a new CMMS system and PPM schedule and aiming for a 'zero defect' environment
- Carrying out day-to-day operations of the renewable energy process plant
- Using SCADA control systems to monitor the process
- Helping to feed the fuel into the process using mobile plant such as telehandlers
- Visual fault-finding and rectification
- Continuous plant improvement opportunities - using your mechanical and electrical knowledge/skills to look for ways to further optimise the plant
- Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with RAMS & having an input on RAMS & SOP's yourself
- Ensuring adherence with health & safety at all times
- Other duties as required

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for a Maintenance Operator with the following:
- Experience in anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment or heavy process plant is preferable
- Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (such as an apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ / HNC / HND etc.)
- 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations and/or 2391 Test and Inspection
- Experience carrying out first line maintenance on process plant such as pumps & conveyors
- Knowledge of SCADA / DCS / HMI systems is advantageous
- A forklift licence or telehandler ticket would be ideal, but this is not essential as training can be provided
- A great work ethic and someone with ambition - there's potential for longer term progression

Salary & Package
