Day Shift Team Leader - Biomass Power Station
Leicestershire
Competitive Salary up to £50,000


Introduction
We are actively recruiting a Day Shift Team Leader to join a new state of the art 10MW Biomass power station in the Leicestershire area. The Day Shift Team Leader will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations on site as well as ensuring maximum plant availability to achieve production targets.

Role & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permits
  • Operation of the Gasification plant through the SCADA system
  • Implementing emergency procedures and instructions calmly and effectively in pressure situations
  • Supervision and deployment of manpower as appropriate to ensure cost effective, safe and efficient operation of all activities on site within all operational procedures
  • Technical supervision and assistance where necessary for Company and contract staff
  • Provide effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties
  • To be aware of and work within the Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Systems
  • Liaise with other Company staff as required to provide efficient work scheduling and planning to ensure minimum turnaround times during plant outages
  • Provide out of hours support by telephone and/or attend site at short notice to cover absences and ensure continuous operation of the Gasification facility
  • Assist and advise with plant improvements and modifications
  • Deputise for the Plant Manager as and when required


Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge / qualifications:

  • An experienced Engineer / Technician ideally having completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship / Training with a HNC/ONC
  • Steam Raising experience
  • IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification
  • Knowledge of Environmental Compliance and Regulatory requirements
  • Experience of running a Permit to Work System
  • Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work


The ideal candidate will be have:

  • Broad experience gained through shift working in a continuous process industry, preferably in a Waste to Energy environment or Engineering
  • Ability to lead an operations shift team to ensure adherence with procedures and effective utilisation of staff
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred


Salary & Package
