We urgently require a Quality Engineer with a Mechanical bias, to join the quality department of an Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing company based in Havant, Portsmouth.

Your role will be implementing new quality Techniques into the manufacturing lifecycle, to improve the efficiency and quality of the Bespoke, innovative products that are being produced.

This role will report into the Quality Assurance Manager, however, it is not necessarily a typical “quality” role.

You will need to work closely with the design and engineering departments in order to create new quality processes that are being introduced onto the shop floor.

Our clients is an Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing company with a focus to provide their customers with innovative, bespoke products and this necessitates the need for quality improvement in both their Engineering Team, and own R&D Team, in building new machinery.

As well as new product machinery, you will also be required to review the quality practices including the transition from manual/semi-automatic processes to automation.

The Quality Assurance team want to ensure they have input into the new designs and procedures at an early stage and as such this role will act as a focal point for both teams.

The new role will also be required to develop quality monitoring tools on existing and newly commissioned processes and to develop effective control procedures to maintain product quality standards.

Skills required:-

Mechanical engineering background

Demonstrable ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferably experience of SPC, although knowledge of it would be acceptable

A proven ability to collect, analyse and present data/information

Excellent written and verbal communication

Experience of failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) is not essential, but would be beneficial.

PC Literate - excel, word, access etc.

Previous experience with process monitoring validation would be an advantage

Experience of working within an ISO 9001 environment or similar would be an advantage
